Untitled (Bull's Past-time) by Michael Yoder
acrylic and ink on canvas; 48×30inches
This piece is one third of a triptych painting I made that incorporates both of the Durham Bull's baseball stadiums (the Historic Durham Athletic Park, filming location of the classic "Bull Durham" movie, and the new Durham Bulls Athletic Park) as backdrop for enhanced versions of the mascot of Durham, the Durham Bull as the main subject, "peacocking" toward the viewer in an effort to provoke them, draw them in, and encourage them to explore the idiosyncratic creative riches that this town has to offer anyone that is lucky enough to visit it, or call it home!
