Title: The Upside Down; Series: Will and Wall by Nida Zehra

$650.00

Archival Inkjet Print; 30×20inches

The Upside Down is a single exposure, camera obscura photograph from the series Will and Wall, navigating the tension between domestic space and individual power. Capturing the woman who exists inside the home, whose will extends far beyond those walls. The work is both a tribute to my mother's life as a homemaker and an act of living the agency she possessed but could not fully express. Through specific angles, depth of field, and the optical inversion of the camera obscura, I ask what it looks like when a woman simply refuses to be narrowly defined.
