Red Hat is part of a series in which Sharon explores the fluidity of the human form as people move through their daily activities. This particular work is based on a photo she took while traveling in South Africa and also seeks to explore the easy, comfortable relationship between two female friends. There is a dynamic energy that is visually palpable and draws us into the piece wanting to know more. This fluidity is expressed through loose marks, gestures, and an energetic palate.
