Mirror Lake by Frank Sha
Photography and poem
12×14inches (photo)
“During a backpacking journey, twelve veterans accustomed to missions and schedules gathered at Mirror Lake, where dense fog concealed Mount Rainier and its reflection. Waiting for the view became a tense invitation to sit with our thoughts, shared experiences, and the weight of service. This photograph captures the mountain and its reflection after the fog mostly lifted. The accompanying poem explores that movement from urgency toward presence, healing, and the freedom to choose our next mission.”
