Layers is at once a look at what can happen if you quilt in an unordered way, by adding and removing fabric, plus quilting and embroidering throughout the whole process, but it also represents the passage of time and how humans change the space around them, whether it is a reflection of the riotous layers that is my sewing room's floor or a community space that has been built and rebuilt.
