Circle Peg #2 by Josey Jessee
mixed media on wood panel; 25×25inches
This work, from my series "Square Peg, Round Hole," is a visual representation of how the goal of perfection—in our work and in ourselves—is incompatible with the messiness of life. By assembling a laser-cut acrylic panel and an abstract painting into a single piece, the viewer is confronted with the inner conflict of perfectionism rendered in physical terms.
