The Figure Model: Live Model Fashion Drawing Workshop
Bring your figure drawings to life with dynamic lines and movement as only we humans can do. (Sorry, AI!)
This life drawing workshop has a focus on fashion. The class will consist of learning some Fashion Drawing basics, viewing a demonstration and then having nearly a 2 hour opportunity to create your own drawings from our live, well dressed model. Beginning with quick gesture sketches to loosen up we will then be progressing to longer, more detailed poses. You can expect to hear some upbeat music and see some beautiful clothes as this promises to be an exciting event. We'll have a safe, supportive space for sharing our drawings for constructive discussion within the group. Above all, we will have fun.
This workshop is for:
those eager to improve their fashion drawings,
for fashion designers who want to level up their illustration skills,
and for anyone ready to have fun drawing the clothed human figure.
Experience with figure drawing is helpful but not necessary. For inspiration look at Jessica Durrant, David Downton, Bill Donovan, Claire Jones, Scott W. Mason and Kathy Wyatt just to name a few. We recommend bringing your pastels, pencils, graphite sticks, vine charcoal and/or markers along with drawing paper or mixed media paper. However, you are welcome to bring whatever drawing mediums you prefer.
