About the Artist

Bradley Carter is an Award Winning, International Selling American Artist who grew up perusing his passion for art in Virginia before moving to Wilmington, North Carolina in 2007, where he currently resides with his beautiful daughter, Izzy. He predominately creates in the medium of acrylic painting with his passion in Abstract Expressionism, but his works also include mixed media, paint skins, and resin.

In 2002, Bradley received his BFA in Painting and Print Making from Virginia Commonwealth University but didn’t pursue a career in art full-time until 2013. His work is rich in Abstract Expressionism with a focus in composition, movement, texture, and color theory. Being an advocate for the arts and community, Bradley has served as President of the local Wilmington Art Association as well as Director of several local and regional juried and festival style shows bringing awareness to the value of art within a community.

Bradley maintains a consistent stream of solo and national juried shows and has sold work to private and public collectors worldwide. Currently his work is represented at Art in Bloom Gallery, Eclipse Gallery and Citrine Gallery as well as on display at The George on the Riverwalk in Wilmington. His original paint skin journals and sketchbooks are sold at Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum in South Carolina. Bradley’s work has been reviewed in several local and international articles and has been seen on television and in movies including “Scream 5”, ABC's “Secrets Lies”, TNT’s “Good Behavior”, Starz “Hightown”, and Fox’s “Our Kind of People”.

You cannot change the shadows of yesterday,

Only now in darkness can I see tomorrow’s day.

Stand upon my footsteps that held me tight.

Forward I struggle, but go, catch the light.

Bend but don’t break they say, but I move my soul shakes.

Tomorrow’s yesterday, I will change, how the shadows fall.

Moving through, my mind made wall.
