Join our friends at Living Arts Collective for a Third Friday Open Mic and Craft Space.
This Friday night, we're gathering in the Lower Level of the Living Arts Center for The Living Room Open Mic + Craft Space: this is an intimate, unamplified evening of music, spoken word, storytelling, poetry, quiet making, and listening.
If you'd like to perform, please arrive by 9:15pm to sign up: the open mic will run for an hour afterward, from 9:30-10:30pm. Throughout this time, we invite the room to offer its attention to whoever is sharing.
We'll have tables available for you to bring quiet crafts and creativity in motion, like drawing, sketching, crochet, knitting, handwork, collage, journaling, or another quiet creative practice you can do while still listening. If you feel called, bring extra supplies to share. You might find a chance to share what you're working on, learn a skill from a neighbor, or show something you know.
Where: Lower Level Main Area at the Living Arts Center. 410 W Geer St., Durham, NC 27701 (come down the ramp/stairs under the Salt Cave).
Suggested contribution: $15-$5. Contribute what you're able: no one turned away for lack of funds, and performers participate for free!
Hosted by Gareth Dicker, Darren Stridiron, Brü Roze, Aubrey Roze in collaboration with Mystic Valley Boutique, Leaf Star Botanicals, and Oak City Hemp and Artists of Living Arts Collective.
