CALL FOR ARTISTS: 2018 Artist in Residence Program

The 2018 Artist in Residence Program lasts for 6 months, July – December, in Studio 119 at Golden Belt. The private studio space is 253 sq. ft. DAG’s resident will be able to access their studio 24 hours a day and is expected to spend a minimum of 20 hours a week there on work. The artist selected will receive a stipend of $1000 for the duration of the residency to help with project expenses. DAG’s resident will have opportunities to interact with the Durham public during DAG events on Third Fridays and will give at least one presentation or demonstration of their work during the six-month residency.  At the end of the program, DAG’s resident will showcase their work in a DAG supported solo exhibition at Room 100 Gallery at Golden Belt in downtown Durham.
Submission Deadline: April 10, 2018 by 11:59 p.m.
Online reviewing and resident selection meeting: April 11 – April 20, 2018
Notification of acceptance: April 23, 2018
Studio move-in dates: June 28 – July 1, 2018
Exhibition dates: December 5, 2018 – January 3, 2019
Public reception for exhibit during 3rd Friday Durham:
December 21, 2018 6:00p.m. – 9:00p.m.
Studio move-out dates: January 3 - January 7, 2019
