Member Spotlight: Beth Denholm

I’ve dabbled in drawing and painting since I was young but didn’t start taking art classes until about ten years ago. I spend a great deal of time hiking, photographing flowers and bugs, and gardening. These hobbies blend well with my scientific training in biology and provide the inspiration for my paintings of landscapes and flowers.

The Durham Art Guild (DAG) is engaged in a membership drive from now through the end of March 2012. Please take this opportunity to become a DAG member or to renew your membership.

New memberships purchased between now and March 31 will cost $50, and are good for 15 months and won't require renewal until July 1 of 2013. In other words, 15 months (instead of the usual 12) for $50.

2012 Cary Visual Art Outdoor Sculpture Competition and Exhibition

Sculpture artists from across the nation are invited to participate in the 2012 Cary Visual Art Outdoor Sculpture Competition & Exhibition, August 10, 2012 - June 21, 2013. Organized and presented by Cary Visual Art with the support of the Town of Cary, this exhibition offers established and emerging artists the opportunity to display their sculptures throughout the heart of downtown Cary, North Carolina.

The Durham Art Guild Member Show

With the cancellation of the Andy Warhol exhibition, the Durham Art Guild (DAG) is looking to put up a member show for those now-open dates.

Dates: Member exhibition will run from February 17th to April 8th, 2012.

If you are an interested DAG member, please bring work into the Sun Trust Gallery (120 Morris Street, Durham, NC 27701) Monday February 13th to Wednesday the 15th 2012 from 10:00am to 5:00pm. This will give us time to display your work and open the exhibit on third Friday, February 17th.
